/timeout

Temporarily stop a member from chatting, reacting or joining voice.

Usage #

/timeout <user> <duration> [reason] [silent]

Options #

These extra bits only apply when you use the % prefix version.

Duration format #

Use a number with a unit: s for seconds, m for minutes, h for hours, d for days or w for weeks. See Durations, IDs and Flags for more.

Good to know #

  • While timed out, the member can read messages but cannot send, react, speak or stream.
  • The reply shows exactly when the timeout ends.
  • Timing out someone who is already timed out replaces the old timeout with the new one.
  • To end it early, use Untimeout.
  • Your highest role and the Ethvex role must both be above the member's highest role. Nobody can target the server owner, themselves or Ethvex.
