Compare plans Unlimited mappings: give a role while members are in a voice channel
Voice Roles are great for things like an In Voice role that unlocks a text channel for people who are talking, or a Gaming role for anyone in your game channels.
Setting it up #
Open the panel
Run /voiceroles or %vr. You will see your current mappings.
Press Add Mapping
A mapping links a voice channel to a role.
Pick the channel and role
Choose a voice or stage channel, then the role members should get while they are in it.
Set the options
Turn Remove on Leave and All Channels on or off. See below.
Save
Press Save Mapping. It works straight away.
Options #
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Remove on Leave | Takes the role away again when the member leaves the channel. On by default. Turn it off to let members keep the role. |
| All Channels | Gives the role in any voice channel instead of one specific channel. The role stays while members move between channels and is only removed when they fully disconnect. |
Managing mappings #
- Switch a mapping off without deleting it, or delete it completely from the list.
- Open the Activity Log to see the last 10 times a role was given or removed, with who, which channel and when.
Ethvex needs Manage Roles and its role must sit above the roles it gives out.
Examples #
/voicerolesOpens the Voice Roles panel.
%vrSame thing with the prefix alias.
